Days with German students

My junior high school organized an activity communicating with students from Germany. I thought it a good chance to know Germany so I joined in it. We had a chance to stay with foreign students for four days. During these days, I showed my German friend, Luisa my home. She also tried Chinese food but she seemed to be interested in potatoes and beef. We went to the park and I introduced the province I lived in so that she could know more things about Anhui. The last day we entered a community activity and it might be the most meaningful day. We visited the olds who do well in handwork. They taught us how to make paper-cutting and clay figurine but it was really difficult. Each of us took a clay figurine as a souvenir.

Luisa is a little quiet and shy. I find that she is interested in languages and music. She can speak five kinds of languages except German. To my surprise, she likes Super Junior from Korea best and she knows a lot of things about Korean entertainment. I think she is different from other girls and I really like her.

I learnt a lot through this activity. I learnt how to communicate with and get on well with others. I remembered I was nervous when I first saw the foreign students and I could hardly speak anything. So I had to be confident even though I was shy. It’s not easy to talk to strangers especially the people from other countries because I’m afraid to say something wrong. I’m not good at chatting with others so I have to fix it first. I understand the importance of listening to friends. I should be more positive because I am the host. I had to take care of them all the time and know what they like or not. I also found many differences between east and west from these days, so we should comprehend each other in the future. That is most I have learnt from the activity. I will never forget this valuable experience.
