Hefei No.8 Senior Middle School with the title “Anhui Provincial Model Senior High School” is a celebrated school not only in Anhui province but also in China. It is a public school under direct management of Hefei Education department. The school covers an area of 102,000 square meters and has a building area of 146,000 square meters. There are 44 classes with 3446 students, 286 teaching and administrative staff, among whom 235 are teachers. 65 are senior teachers, 101 middle ranked teachers and 69 junior teachers.  More than 70 teachers have won the titles of “Teaching Stars”, “Teaching Experts” and “Good Quality Classes” in the competitions held in the city and province. In recent 5 years more than 100 articles and essays have been published in academic publications. More than 10 education research subjects of national, provincial and municipal levels were under research and have now been completed. No.8 Senior High School has been active in international communication and cooperation .We have long term communication and cooperation with Japan, Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore, the US, Australia and so on. The activities of cooperation and exchanging teachers and students happen at least once a year with Hede Female Senior Middle School of Korea, Pinshan Middle School of Kulume Japan and Educator Association  of Hong Kong. The school pays special attention to international communication and cooperation of teachers. Over 10 teachers have been sent to join the international exchange projects of education. They have paid education visit to or have been trained in the US, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, and Japan. The school is a member of the International Communication and Exchange Project in the Education Department of Anhui province.

In the fall of 2008, No.8 Senior High Middle School moved to the municipal government region. As planned, we will enroll 6,000 students, supplying board and lodging. The school will be fitted with high standard teaching equipment, with 120 classrooms, 1224 dormitories and a four-story dining hall for 3,000 people to dine at the same time. To carry out distinctive management of our school, we will supply good education conditions such as a modern library, 38 high standard labs and a multi-function stadium.
